This is just another way to be lazy in the game. Next thing people will want to select where they log into on a character from the login screen.

My PC doesn't take too long loading locations, but I don't mind waiting a little longer as I do. Invariably I am with someone else who sometimes takes longer.... not an issue.

As to zoning anywhere to anywhere.... the idea of the the lil ship is to facilitate the travel between the major places.

However I'd like to see an Asura Gate from the GH

We just need them to actually merge the maps and then it wont be so bad entering and leaving the ROT!

It seems to work with GWEN.

Some people dont have prophercies so all they see is the entire hidden prophercies map, except for the northern and south parts where GWEN exists.

The same would work if they marged all the maps. You would just seem a blured bit for the game you wont own. I also think it would work well as a sales technique.

Imagine having a HUGE map and sections you cant explore unless you buy an expansion. Its a far bigger insentive.

The best solution would be to "Show maps without being in the are of the map".

The boat:
- Instead of travelling the items in the list of the boat would be the other areas. Click the boat, click Cantha. The canthan map is shown. Don't like it, click the map again, select another map. Once you are looking t the map of the land you want to go, click the unlocked location you want to get to.

The Vortex
- The Morah Vortex will show the Torment map, without tavelling.
- The Gate of Torment Vortex will show the Elonian map, with no travel.

The Asura Gate.
- The Same. Click on any of the gates, and the Tyrian map is shown. The gate near Lion's Arc would be removed, though.

I proposed a similar idea .http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10214095

I would prefer to see more ports of call.

I want to see the last 10 places you visited as a drop down list on your map. Of course not for Deep/Urgoz or places that doesn't have a clickable map icon.

I hate it too, and I have a good computer that's fast. When loading up a high populated area it's very frustrating for slower computers, I'm sure of it.

gw is unique to the concept of instant map travel, unlike many other MMO's where you have to spend time to actually go where you want.

its also unique in the way its graphics are scaled so people with lower end computers can still play the game, just at a disadvantage of speed, and graphics.

this would help all those who chose to play gw, instead of buying a top of the line cpu. making their time more well spent..

no reason to make the map travel not more convienant. 'tis annoying to zone multiple times, instead of just once. espically with slower cpu's/net.. have friend that take literally 5 mins to zone once, with major lag for a good 2 mins after.(i consider myself lucky to have a mid-line cpu that can load a zone in under 30 seconds)

/signed. Seems logical.

I always liked the old gaming idea of "/travel *insert place name here*" Easy if you know how to spell the place

Though except for the first few loads for a new campaign(3+ minutes, because of all the new things)
I find it quite bearable, usually done in less than 10 seconds, mostly 6ish.
(it's the lag of waiting for my ATI card to optimize all textures afterwards that is annoying, I want a "select least active district" option, because armor textures hurt the most.
But the worst is that it optimizes the textures of arrows, weapon trails, and skill effects only during the first fight; which tends to lag like hell)

512 MB RAM here too;
...I really need to do something about it. It kinda makes having a fast multi core processor useless...

I actually deinstalled GW from my laptop, because loading took too long, it has only 265 or sumsutch.

/unsigned....get a better computer don't expect ANET to make your life easier because you are cheap.
Yea, totally, man! In fact, I don't understand this "Windows" craze. How stupid! Point and click indeed. The first modern computers required you to type everything into the machine and then watch the results print out on a console on the front of the box, and that's the way they should stay because improving interfaces is stupid!

Your opposition is fundamentally absurd.

Anyway, I have no trouble, but it would be nice if I didn't have to go through all those clicks to get from one city to another in different campaigns, plus it would save ANET the server-side work of having to load the intermediary city (Lions Arch, Kamadan, Kaineng, etc.) that the user doesn't even want to be in.

Apparently not you though, since you have the spare time to write out that absurd post about how much better you are than everyone else.

Yeah, RoT to other places is extremely annoying. Anyway where all maps are viewable and don't require multiple loads will work.
